There are quite a few campgrounds in and around Estes Park. Most of these have much more extensive amenities than you’ll find inside of Rocky Mountain National Park. We've done the hard work of combing through them so you an easily compare them. They are listed in alphabetical order. Please contact the businesses directly to confirm this information.

Elk Meadow Lodge / RV Park

This campground is located next to the Rocky Mountain National Park Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and offers unparalleled views of the mountains. Visitors will literally be on the doorstep of Rocky Mountain National Park and may even see local elk walking through their sites.

The Elk Meadow RV Park has a total of 169 sites, which includes 37 tent-only sites and seven cabins.

The maximum length of a travelling coach is 75 feet.

RV/Trailers

These rates are all-inclusive and include electricity, 2 people, 1 RV/trailer, 1 vehicle, and 2 pets.

Fees will be assessed for additional persons 4 years and older, vehicles, and pets.

Tents/Teepees

Tent rates include 2 people, 1 tent, and 1 vehicle. There is a maximum of 4 people on sites T1-22 and 6 people on sites T0 & T23-36. 1 pet only is allowed on tent sites, with $5 per night additional. Tent sites do not have electricity, water, or sewer.

Teepee rate includes 4 people and 1 vehicle. There is a maximum of 4 people allowed for teepee reservations. These teepees offer an authentic western experience. Teepees feature carpeted floors and dedicated electricity. Pets and smoking are strictly prohibited in property-owned accommodations and structures.

Cabins

Cabins provide a cable television, picnic table, BBQ grill, and seating/covered porch. Pets and smoking are strictly prohibited in property-owned accommodations and structures. Linens and utensils are not furnished.

One-bedroom cabins include a queen-size bed in the bedroom, queen-size sofa bed, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and bathroom with shower.

Two-bedroom cabins include twin-size bunks, standard-size sofa bed, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and bathroom with shower.

The Historic Ranger Cabin is a fully furnished cabin featuring a full-size kitchen, full-size bathroom, and accommodations for six.

Elk Meadow Lodge and RV Resort is open May 6, 2022 through October 8, 2022. The pool is open to guests Memorial Day through Labor Day.

From Hwy 36, turn south onto Hwy 66. Elk Meadow Lodge and RV Park is located on the right side of the road less than a quarter mile from the 36/66 intersection.

Estes Park Campground at East Portal

This campground is tucked into the forest on the very edge of Rocky Mountain National Park, with the convenience of Estes Park being only a ten-minute drive away. Trails lead out of the campground directly into Rocky Mountain National Park.

The Estes Park Campground at East Portal has a total of 64 sites for tents and small campers and RVs.

The maximum length of RVs or trailers is 22 feet, due to the narrow, primitive roads. There is a maximum of six people including children allowed per site.

Fees:

Estes Park Campground at Mary’s Lake

Estes Park Campground at Mary’s Lake is the perfect campground for anyone looking to get out of the city and into the mountains, but still want the convenience of local shopping both nearby and on site with their campground store. Fishers will be delighted to know that Mary’s Lake is within walking distance from the campground.

Estes Park Campground at Mary’s Lake has a total of 120 sites.

The maximum length of RVs or trailers is 43 feet. Be sure to reserve your space well in advance for large rigs, as there is a limited number of spaces available for larger RVs and campers.

From downtown Estes Park, drive west on Hwy 36. Turn south onto Mary’s Lake Road and drive 1.6 miles. Estes Park Campground at Mary’s Lake will be on the left side of the road.

Alternatively, from downtown Estes Park, drive south on Hwy 7. Turn right onto Mary’s Lake Road and drive 1 mile. Estes Park Campground at Mary’s Lake will be on the right side of the road.

Estes Park KOA

Lying on the Eastern edge of Estes Park, the Estes Park KOA boasts breathtaking views of Longs Peak over Lake Estes. The Estes Park KOA is a walk away from the Estes Park marina, where boats are available to rent. The Estes Park KOA hosts many camp events in the summer season

Estes Park KOA has a total of 118 sites, which includes 17 tent-only sites. It has 27 cabins, 7 of which are deluxe cabins.

Due to limited parking, only one vehicle is permitted per site. If you are using multiple vehicles, you will need to find accommodation for your second car.

Directions:

The Estes Park KOA is on the east side of Estes Park. If driving up through Big Thompson canyon on Hwy 34, it will be on the right side of the road roughly a half mile after exiting the canyon/.4 miles after passing Mall Road.

Hermit Park

Southwest of Estes Park on Highway 36, Hermit Park offers a secluded campground with hiking and horse trails leading from the campground.

Hermit Park has a total of 105 sites. There are 41 RV/trailer sites. The site count includes a pavilion that can accommodate up to 150 people for events, 5 equestrian sites, and 12 “walk-to” sites for those wanting to get a bit further away from their car. Hermit Park has 13 cabins, two of which are accessible, and all have hot water and are powered by propane.

Entrance permit and camping permit required.

Hermit Park is located on Hwy 36, 4.5 miles southeast from downtown Estes Park and 16.6 miles northwest of Lyons, CO. It is on the south side of the road and is marked with a green “Hermit Park” sign.

Jellystone Park of Estes

Jellystone Park of Estes offers an experience like nowhere else and fun for the whole family. Visit Yogi Bear and his pals in the beautiful woods just southeast of Estes Park. Jellystone Park of Estes offers themed weekends to celebrate all summer and even offers birthday packages (with advance reservation).

Jellystone Park of Estes has 87 RV/trailer/tent sites and 27 cabins.

The maximum trailer/RV length is 40 feet.

Hermit Park is located on Hwy 36, 5.8 miles southeast from downtown Estes Park and 14.8 miles northwest of Lyons, CO. It is on the east side of the road.

Manor RV Park

Manor RV Park is located on the west side of Estes Park, CO next to the Big Thompson River. It is only five minutes to downtown Estes Park and five minutes to the Beaver Meadows entrance to RMNP. This campground is available for winter usage for those who want to camp in comfort during the beautiful snowy season.

Manor RV Park has 110 sites, with 22 premium sites next to the Big Thompson River.

The maximum length of RVs or trailers is 38 feet. Please note that there are no tent sites in this campground.

Fees:

  • Summer rates are listed below. The summer season runs from May 15th - October 15th.
  • RV- Standard- Circle and Meadow sites- $69.43 + Tax
  • RV- River Sites- Premium Sites- $86.90 +Tax

Manor RV Park is on Riverside Drive in Estes Park. From Hwy 36 on the west side of Estes Park, drive south on Mary’s Lake Road for .3 miles and turn left onto Riverside Drive. Drive another .3 miles and turn left at the Manor RV Park sign.

Spruce Lake RV Park

Spruce Lake RV Park boasts its very own fishing pond, appropriately named Spruce Lake. It also has outstanding views of the Continental Divide and is the perfect haven for those looking to relax and fish right in their campground.

Please note that there are no tent sites in this campground.
