March 13, 2008: Six Weeks in the United Kingdom
I've just returned from six weeks in the United Kingdom, visiting my wife's family and many of our friends. I had planned to spend a great deal of my time doing photography, but we all found ourselves ill for most of our visit. Despite this, I still managed to get out a few times. This included an evening on Cape Cornwall, a visit to Plymouth harbor, a morning and evening at Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge, two days in the beautiful Lake District and a very rainy week in the stunning highlands of Scotland. You can see some of the highlights from the trip or see all 65 new images by visiting the relevant galleries: Cornwall, Devon, Bristol, Lake District, and Scotland.February 8, 2008: Snowshoeing in RMNP
Over half the year in Rocky Mountain National Park the trails are covered in snow, often deep snow. Yet with a pair of snowshoes most places are still accessible. The winter makes it much more challenging to get to locations and the best images are rare during this time, but it is a time when it is easy to find solitude and peace in Rocky. On most days one can enjoy the park to themselves. October 27, 2007: Oregon Excursion
I just returned from a family vacation to Oregon and while we were there I managed to sneek away a few times and capture a few photos of this spectacular part of the country. If you'd like to get a peak at some of what we saw, click on the photo to go to my new Oregon Gallery. October 14, 2007: Autumn Review
Today we received our first significant snow in Rocky Mountain National Park and the leaves have almost all fallen. It seems that winter has arrived. As always, it seems to have come all too soon. In an effort to stay positive about the coming six months of winter I took a look through some of the photos I took during these last few weeks and chose a few of thee ones I like most. If you are interested in having a look, click on the photo.
September 21, 2007: People's Choice Award
Each autumn, the "Art Center of Estes Park" holds its national "Lines into Shapes" exhibit. This year over 130 pieces of art were accepted into the show, representing over 30 states and Canada. Erik's "Tall Dalmatians" image was voted by artists and others in attendance at the opening reception as the "People's Choice". This piece as well as the rest of the show will be on display at the Art Center until October 7th.July 20, 2007: Photography Tutorial Interview
Today the second half of an interview with me was published on "The Rocky Mountain Nation Podcast". This is a website dedicated to providing radio type interviews with Rocky Mountain National Park officials and specialists. Unlike radio, podcasts (shows) can be downloaded and listened to on the computer at any time. In the first interview I provide some basic information on taking landscape photography, looking particularly at: photo gear, lighting, and composition. In the second interview I provide a section specifically dedicated to photography within Rocky Mountain National Park. These podcasts are sponsored by RMNPForums.com, the best place on the net for all things related to Rocky Mountain National Park.June 8, 2007: Book Release!
Today, Skyline Press released my first book on Rocky Mountain National Park. It features over 70 of my favorite photos and reveals the diversity of this amazing national treasure. It can be purchased in bookstores along Colorado's Front Range, in the National Park, at my gallery, or you can order a signed copy directly from me via this website. It is available for only $10 plus shipping. Click on the photo for more details. A copy of the press release can be found here.May 9, 2007: McDonalds Goes Upscale

They purchased 10 large pieces from Erik's Rocky Mountain National Park collection. If you are in Estes, stop by and take a look. Click on the photo for more information and images. |
